1) Devoir followed by a noun may mean "to owe" 2) In the present tense, and followed by an infinitive, devoir may express:

Falloir: is stronger and somewhat more formal than devoir; It expresses necessity.
Il faut + infinitive
Il faut étudier si on veut réussir. Il ne faut pas changer d'idée. |
It is necessary + an infinitive
It is necessary to study if someone wants to succeed. It is necessary not to change idea. |

Je sais cuisiner. I know how to cook. Je sais parler français. I know how to speak French. Je sais marcher avec les yeux fermés. I know how to walk with my eyes closed. 2. Information you know/are aware of Je sais les noms de tous les rois. I know the names of all of the kings. Est-ce que tu sais comment elle s’appelle? Do you know what her name is? 3. 2. Knowing a place and being familiar with something
Je connais très bien Nice. I know Nice very well.
Je connais la route. I know the way. I’m familiar with this road.
Est-ce que tu connais la cote d’azur? Do you know/have you been to the French Riviera?
3. Knowing about the existence of something
Est-ce-que tu connais Jupiter? Have you heard of Jupiter?
Je connais la goyave. I know what a guava is.
4. Being informed of something’s value
Je connais la distance. I know the distance.
